Former BTC MCLA of Kalaigaon Keshab Deka passes away
People of Kalaigaon paid tearful farewell to former BPF leader late Keshab Chandra,at Kalaigaon on December 11,who had breathed his last at GNRC hospital,North Guwahati on December 10 at 3 pm. His body was taken first from Mangaldai to his original village Nahorbari near Kalaigaon this morning.Later motorcade carrying his body arrived at AASU Kalaigaon office where AASU leaders paid floral tribute to their former leader.Later his body was taken to BPF office at Kalaigaon where hundreds of people including BPF leaders and members of other organizations paid their last respect to him.Prominent among them were -Lwmsrao Daimari, EM, BTC;Jagadish Sarkar,EM,BTC;Kamali Basumatari,MLA, Paneri LAC;Nerson Boro,Deputy Speaker BTC Assembly; Jayanta Das,president,Udalguri District Journalist Union; Bhargab Kumar Das,Advisor,Mangaldai Media Circle etc. Later his body was taken to Mangaldai for performing last rites.It needs mention that Keshab Deka had been the president of All Darrang District Students Union before joining AGP.He was elected as an AGP MCLA in BTC council from Mudoibori constituency.He joined BPF a few years back and was offered the post of Chairman of OBC Board in BTAD.Various organizations including -Darrang and Udalguri District Students Union,AYJCP,Darrang District Committee;Mangaldai Media Circle,Udalguri District Journalist Union,Central Committee of BPF etc.have expressed sorrow at the untimely death of Keshab Chandra Deka.He was only 53 at the time of demise.He left behind his singer wife Rinti Moni Deka,one son and a daughter.
