Jawan killed by militants in Kashmir cremated with state honour at Bhergaon in Assam

Prabin Das,Sepoy No.4375845Y of 16 Assam regiment who had been one among eight army jawans killed by militants in Srinagar on June 24 was cremated here at Ghogapara village near Sub-divisional HQ Bhergaon on June 27 with full state honour. When the body of the brave hero was brought home by army, his mother,who sells road side tea was crying at the loss of her son. Holding a photo of her son 61 years old Sewali Das was in tears while narrating her sons sad story. Locals told that Prabin had been a meritorious student in school.But he could not continue higher study due to poverty.So after passing HS final he joined Indian army. Villagers still remember Prabin encouraging other village boys to join Indian army to serve motherland. Thousands thronged to funeral site to pay last respect to the brave son of the soil. Among them were Lwmsrao Daimari, EM,BTC; Anil Deuri,SDO (civil) Bhergaon; Lt.Col. Fertado of Red Horns Division etc.
