EE takes steps to repair computers at Kalaigaon Schools

R.Chandra Nathan,ADGP of Assam Police Radio Organization (APRO),who was deputed as the EE for Kalaigaon HS School and Kalaigaon ME Madrasa School in Udalguri district on October 11 has been thanked by people for taking immediate steps to repair numbers of hibernating computer sets during the ‘Gunotsav’ only due to lack of computer trained persons. The computer sets were non functional for last five years.Heads of both the institutions also failed to make any satisfactory reply to the visiting ADGP of Assam Police. On the other hand,he was shocked to know no records of the quantity of computer sets received by the schools. On seeing the non functional condition of the computer sets ADGP R.Chandra Nathan deputed a team of Assam Police Radio Organization (APRO) to both the schools and the team in his presence promptly repaired the computer sets in both the schools. All the students of both the schools highly appreciated the initiative of the visiting ADGP and expressed deep satisfaction. They also thanked the team of the APRO as now on wards the inquisitive and interested students will be able to use the computer sets. Mention may be made here that the ADGP R Chandra Nathan started his career in Assam Police as the Sub Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) of erstwhile Udalguri Sub Division of Darrang district in 1987.During his interaction with the teachers he recalled his days in the locality and described his visit to Kalaigaon as a visit to ‘his own home’.On the other hand, though the government has been providing computer sets to the schools of the state, education department has no arrangements for proper monitoring of the use of the computer sets.
